Job Title: Machinist I (Conventional Lathe)

Shift: 1st Shift | 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Location: Santa Ana, CA

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a Machinist I with experience operating conventional lathe machines to produce precision components. This role is responsible for machine setup, machining operations, and ensuring parts meet required specifications and tolerances. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, can read blueprints, and is comfortable working with precision measuring tools in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional lathe machines to machine precision parts

• Perform turning, threading, and basic machining operations according to specifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings

• Verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers

• Select appropriate tooling and adjust machine settings as needed

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

• Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements

• Support production needs and perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience operating conventional lathe machines

• Experience performing machine setups and basic machining operations

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

• Knowledge of shop math related to machining

• Familiarity with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
