Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China. This position is based in Clemmons, NC. 

 

Position Overview:

Responsible for all aspects for incoming material including material verification, checking for dimensional accuracies, counting of received goods, and verifying part numbers.  Must be able to set up conventional machines and/or CNC lathes and/or mills. 

 

2nd shift:  2:30pm - 11:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, dispatch and other technical data to produce a quality work piece by determining the proper tooling and machining methods.
  • Simple set ups of manual machines and/or CNC lathes and/or mills.
  • Mounts and aligns fixtures and chuck jaws to help in reduction of set up.
  • Must be able to operate manual machines and/or CNC lathes and/or mills.
  • Must be able to upload and download programs into CNC lathes and/or mills from data base.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments and all other quality control devices and instruments to check for conforming parts.
  • Must have the ability to work out problems from startup of machine and to change cutting tools to ensure parts are to blueprint specifications.
  • Enters commands or manually adjusts machine controls to correct malfunctions of out-of-tolerance machining.
  • Responsible for completing daily set up sheets, hourly inspection sheets, indirect labor sheets, reporting scrap and making labels and move tickets as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and interpret blueprints. Ability to read and write simple correspondence and memos. Ability to present machining information to employees and management of the organization and present information to an auditor for the purpose of ISO acceptance.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to interpret bar graphs.

 

Education and Experience:

One-year certificate from college or technical school or two years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and use their hands and fingers to feel objects, tools and controls.  The employee is required to walk, reach with their hands and arms, talk and hear.  The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities are required for this job and include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment:

The employee will be will be working with moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be noisy at times.  Lean principles and 5S must be followed to establish a cleaner and safer work environment.  Safety glasses are required while on the plant floor.
