What we need
We are looking for a hands-on, detail-orientedFabrication&Build Technicianto join our Fixtures & Prototypesteamwithin the System Test organization. In this position, you willhave a key role in bringingprototypes, machines, tools, and fixturesfrom concept to completion. You will collaborate with engineers to influence andoptimize designs, fabricate parts and components in our machine shop,and buildfixtures. You’lltake ownership of maintaining shop equipment and machine schedules. This is a dynamic position that blendscreativity, design, andproblem-solvingwith hands-onmachining, assembly, and maintenance.
What you’ll do
Collaborateacross mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplinesto develop prototypes,machines,tools, and fixtures tomeetEngineering project deliverables.
Leadmachineshopprojects from concept throughcompletion, including fabrication, assembly, wiring, andimplementation.
Applyknowledgeandexpertisein best practices ofmachiningandfabricationtoguideEngineers’part designsfor speed andefficiency.
Develop novel concepts for fixtures,jigsand tools to solveunique, complex problemsfor engineering,manufacturingand customer site teams.
Machineparts from design drawings, CAD models, sketches, and oral instructions.
Design ormodifyCAD files to support machining / fabrication requirements.
Contribute to development and implementation ofmachine shipprocessesand safety.Trainandguideengineers to perform minor machining operations.
Maintain the machine shop and perform scheduled machine maintenance.
What you’ll need
Minimum 4yearsof experience as a Technician or Machinist working in an R&D or engineering development environment.
High school or vocational technical school diploma required. Associate’s or BS in technical discipline preferred.
Experience intheuseand optimizationof millsandlathesrequired.Familiarity with Prototrack software/machines a plus. Weldingexperiencea plus.
Skilled in mechanical assembly, wiring, soldering, and instrumentation.
Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)required.
Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
Expertiseinelectromechanical products, robotics, or automation is desired.
Familiar with computer MS; Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Demonstratedself-starter.This is a “roll-up-your-sleeves” position.
Great communication skillsrequiredtowork with a dynamic customer base.
Abilityto work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Our environment
Up to 10% travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
There may be times where you will need to stair climb into the structure. You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.
Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 55° to 100° Fahrenheit.
At times you may be at a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).
Frequent ability to safely and efficiently lift items weighing up to 50lbs and move items weighing up to 80lbs.
Stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours and is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
This job may require working at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. Where you may need to be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must be capable of occasional and/or continuous feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movement using both hands and feet. Must complywith all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $82,000.00 - $113,300.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
