Job Overview:

About NE-XT Technologies

NE-XT Technologies is a precision manufacturing company serving the aerospace and defense industries. We manufacture complex, high-quality components using advanced CNC machining technology. We seek an experienced CNC Milling Setup Machinist who can independently set up and operate CNC milling equipment. This is a hands-on role focused on setup, machining, troubleshooting, inspection, and continuous improvement. Independent CNC programming is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision aerospace components to drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding; establish and adjust tool and work offsets, speeds, and feeds.
  • Load, verify, and run existing CNC programs; make authorized machine-level adjustments as needed.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other precision tools.
  • Monitor dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and production quality; troubleshoot tooling, fixture, offset, and machine issues.
  • Work with manufacturing engineering, CNC programming, and quality teams to resolve problems and improve cycle times and tool life.
  • Complete production, inspection, part identification, and traceability records accurately.
  • Perform routine machine care and follow safety, quality, and preventive maintenance procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of CNC milling setup and operation experience in precision manufacturing, or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • Ability to independently complete machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and adjustments.
  • Proficiency reading engineering drawings and interpreting GD&T.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment and performing in-process dimensional checks.
  • Working knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining principles; strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures, maintain records, and work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace or defense component machining experience and familiarity with AS9100 quality practices.
  • Experience with 4-axis or 5-axis milling and Okuma, DMG MORI, or similar CNC equipment.
  • Ability to interpret G-code and perform basic program edits; CAM programming experience is a plus, not a requirement.
  • First-article inspection, part traceability, and process-improvement experience.
  • Technical school education or machining certification.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and move around manufacturing equipment for extended periods; handle tools and precision components; and lift or move items up to 50 pounds as needed, using appropriate assistance or handling equipment. Essential functions may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly pay: $30.00–$38.00, depending on experience and qualifications. Eligible employee benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with company matching; and paid holidays. [Confirm any additional paid time off, shift differential, and other benefits before publication.]
