Job Description

Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a CMM Programmer 2nd Shift who applies knowledge of measurement and program coordinate measurement systems (CMS), utilizing mathematics, and electronics to inspect, CMM measurement and test equipment in the electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, environmental, and/or software disciplines to ensure measurement accuracy. Identify and utilize appropriate measurement procedures.  Perform corrective actions to address identified measurement problems.  Adapt equipment, standards, and procedures to accomplish unique measurements. Maintain calibration standards, Scale Bars and Artifacts.  Perform departmental housekeeping to assure neatness and a professional environment.

Job Accountabilities:

• Act appropriately in situations requiring ethical decisions to ensure system integrity and regulatory compliance
• Maintain professional bearing, attitude and manner at all times
• Stay current with the advancements in Coordinate Measurement System (CMS) and metrology, quality assurance and engineering, for higher efficiency and lower cost
• Maintain documentation and records, electronic /or hard-copy format, as objective evidence for quality system audits
• Have knowledge of Customer Digital Product Definition (DPD) process and procedural requirements
• Have knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Specifications:
 
 Education:  Requires a BSCS or BSQA degree or a High School Diploma/GED, plus four (4) years relevant experience and appropriate certifications may be substituted for meeting educational requirements only
Years’ Experience:  Requires three (3) years’ experience performing inspection within a Quality certification organization or other regulated environment

Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Verisurf experience a plus
• Knowledge of tool calibration and tracking of tools
• CMM experience, operating, and programming
• Able to work accurately in a fast-paced, hectic, ever-changing environment with strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to monitor own work to ensure quality, accuracy, and thoroughness. 
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
• Able to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team
• Operate Optical Comparator desirable
• Statistical Process Control desirable
• Advanced knowledge of inspection/metrology
• Contribute towards continuous improvement with regards to Quality, efficiency, and customer-focused results
• 20/20 vision required with or without corrective lenses
• Manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment of different sizes
• Proficient in the use of hand measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc. 
• Willingness and ability to embrace new inspection tools and methodology
• Ability to multi-task, perform efficiently, and independently
