Job Overview:

If you are an experienced Machinist looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting Machinist I opportunity on 1st shift at our Boulder, CO location! 
Under limited supervision, sets up and operates two or more production machines on complicated production work involving difficult operations, close tolerances, and difficult set-ups of parts. Has basic understanding when working with various metal properties. Requires the ability to follow written instructions and read blue-print specifications. This position is located at Emerson/Rosemount Facility.  

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  •  Identifies work to be done by following standardized communication procedures. 
    Cooperatively flexes into other areas as assigned.
  • Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation 
    from accepted practice is required. Resolves routine questions and problems, refers complex 
    issues to higher levels.
  • Ensures product and process quality is maintained through visual inspection, measuring 
    instruments and testing as required.
  • Bring concerns about product and process quality to attention of area management.
  • Thoroughly documents all product travelers ensuring proper quality documentation as
    applicable to a
    given process. Enters data and performs computer transactions as appropriate.
  • Contributes input to and cooperates with improvement teams and lean manufacturing efforts 
    to help improve quality, shorten cycle times, and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on, and ensures calibration of, equipment, tools, and 
    fixtures, as required.
  • Willingly participates in inter and/or intra departmental job rotations as needed.
  • Keeps work areas clean and organized, in accordance with 5s + 1 principles.
  • Knows and follows all safety procedures as required in a specific operation. Identifies safety 
    concerns and takes appropriate action.
  • Willingly shares skills and knowledge. 
  • Effectively gives and receives feedback.
  • Cooperatively performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintains good safety, attendance, and performance records.
  • Able to read, interpret, and follow written, visual, drawings and verbal work instructions.
    Machinist I
  • Demonstrates ability to perform basic setups and capable of machining standard parts on 
    one or more machines
  • Demonstrates ability to read and understand man readables and programs
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly and work well with all members of a team
  • Demonstrates ability to follow all company policies and procedures

  •  EDUCATION: None
  •  EXPERIENCE: 6 months of experience either through school or on the job is preferred,
    Manufacturing experience is a plus

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the hourly pay range for this role is $23.35 - $25.57 commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
