CNC Machinist – Precision, Innovation, Excellence

A leading manufacturing organization is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join its dynamic machining team. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced CNC machines, including lathes, horizontal and vertical mills, and 5-axis mills, to produce high-quality components. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of machining principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform setups on CNC machines, including lathes, horizontal mills, vertical mills, and 5-axis mills, efficiently and safely.
  • Layout components to verify stock and ensure machinability.
  • Operate CNC machine tools, such as vertical turning mills and horizontal boring mills, to machine parts to exact specifications.
  • Edit CNC programs as needed to ensure accuracy and optimize productivity.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using strong mathematical skills.
  • Verify component quality using precision inspection tools, including micrometers and Vernier calipers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • PA State Approved Journeyman Machinist or Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination.
  • Knowledge of G and M codes is a plus.
  • Strong ability to interpret and work from blueprints.

Physical Demands

This role requires physical activity typical of a machining environment, including:

  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Lifting and handling materials or equipment weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Fine motor skills and visual acuity for precision machining and inspection.
