Job Overview:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete daily duties as assigned while following safety guidelines
  • Daily inspections on overhead cranes, and mobile equipment 
  • Assist in mechanical assemblies
  • Handling and moving objects – using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials
  • Ability to operate forklift and overhead cranes (on the job training will be provided)
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work are clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment
  • Set up entry level jobs on both manual mill and lathe

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock in order to display placement of cuts
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job
  • Must be adaptable to changing work environment, competing demand and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules

Minimum Required Job Skills

  • 1-2 years’ experience as either a manual machinist or experience working in an industrial job shop environment
  • Familiarity with fabrication equipment and techniques
  • Basic interpretation on blueprints and drawings
  • Ability to understand, perform and retain various job-related training, operational and safety procedures

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Manufacturing environment: May be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts and exotic materials

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sitting, standing, kneeling, laying, stooping, crawling, reaching, pulling
  • Handling and moving objects- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials
  • Ability to lift to 50lbs

ITAR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to and abide by all ITAR-specific job standards and training.  Protect and properly safeguard ITAR-sensitive information and work product; ensure dissemination or disclosure of and access to “protected data” occurs only with those trained and approved for exposure to ITAR content
