Typical Schedule: Day Shift

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design new fixtures and gauges, using computer-aided design (Solid Edge) software.
  • Program CNC machines using computer aided manufacturing (GibbsCAM) software or G-Code.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production leads to ensure fixturing needs are met.
  • Repair and maintain existing fixtures as required.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabrication.
  • Set up and operate conventional or CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders to produce parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
  • Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies, based on specifications.
  • Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify fixtures, jigs, and gauges using machine tools and hand tools.
  • Select metals to be used from a range of metals and alloys, based on properties such as hardness and heat tolerance.
  • Safely lift, position, and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables, using hoists, vises, v-blocks, or angle plates.
  • Design jigs, fixtures, and templates for use as work aids in the fabrication of parts or products.
  • Maintain hand tools required to aid all aspects of production and assembly.
  • Set up and operate FlexArm to tap holes in parts for assembly.
  • Monitor inventory of on-hand items.

 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school: or three to six months related experience and/or training.
  • Physically, must be able to lift up to 50lbs., bend, squat, twist, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime.
  • Prompt and reliable attendance required.
