Job Description

Summary 
 A Machinist forms and shapes material with lathes, drill presses, mill, mills, routers, grinding machines, duplication and profile machines. A machinist will be expected to manufacture and repair parts associated with the repair of casting equipment and any outside jobs that come into the shop.

The right candidate will      

• Operate computer numerical controlled (CNC) equipment including Lathes.  Manual machinery that turns, mills, punches, drills, or broaches.  
• Operate and maintain inside and outside micrometers, depth micrometer, calipers, bore gages, and other general hand tools. 
• Make tool adjustments to adhere to established specifications.
• Work, from drawings and written instructions to create replacement and new parts in making repairs to metal parts
• Requires basic knowledge of various metals and of measurements used in machining process.
• Monitors work to ensure that machine is not malfunctioning.
• Perform daily maintenance check of machine

What you will need     

• High school diploma or GED, Associate’s degree or technical certificate preferred.
• Reading/Writing skills (literacy) as required
• 5+ years’ experience with set-up, operation, and maintenance of CNC and Manual turning centers.
• Experience with rigging, welding, milling, turning and industrial safety practices preferred.
• Able to read mechanical blueprints, familiarity with electrical schematics is beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret G & M-Code.
• Fanuc programming experience preferred.
• Certifications: Overhead crane and forklift is preferred – in house training provided to obtain certification; Driver’s License
