Job Overview:

Title: Machinist
Location: Manitowoc, Wisconsin

Schedule: 2nd shift

Salary: Starting at $30.00/hour and up depending upon relevant experience plus a 10% shift premium on 2nd shift!

Machinist Essential Functions:

  • Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, and/or samples to ensure accurate production
  • Fabricate various parts to conform to prints and inspection reports
  • Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of department machinery to include horizontal and vertical mills, lathes, presses and grinders to manufacture machines parts requiring close tolerances.
  • Sharpen and replace tooling as needed.
  • Operate various hand, power, and machine tools to make finish adjustments to products.
  • Assist the R&D team with troubleshooting to include new tool packages. 

 

General Machinist Position Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Specialized vocational training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • One year of experience in general industrial machinist/maintenance/machine repair.
  • Experience operating lathes, mills, boring mills and/or machine shop equipment. 
  • Ability to interpret schematics and equipment manuals.
  • Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders, etc).
  • Math, problem solving, mechanical and reading abilities.
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends as required, with primary assignment being 2nd shift (Monday - Thursday 3:00pm - 1:00am).
     

Location-Specific Requirements: 

  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
