Summary of Job:
Wage ranges based by shifts and skill level.
Day Shift (Tues - Fri, 10 hours) = $22.00 to $32.00
2nd Shift (Mon - Thurs, 10 hours) = $26.00 to $35.00
Weekend Shift (Fri - Mon, 10 hours) = $28.00 to $35.00
The Machinist is responsible for machining operations required to manufacture and repair (re-manufacture) fluid film bearings, seals, and “contract machining” in a designated department in Pioneer Motor Bearing Company’s facility in Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
Responsibilities
Manufacture and inspect detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings, and verbal instructions using a variety of machining tools and equipment ( mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores, and other machining equipment)
Ability to use mathematical and geometrical calculations.
Determine how to set up machines based on instructions received and perform minor equipment repairs.
Responsible for keeping the work area clean and free from safety hazards and maintaining acceptable quality and efficiency levels.
Must be able to utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., vernier calipers, micrometers, surface gauges, dial indicators) to maintain dimensional accuracy and specified tolerances during machining operations
