Job description:
We’re a precision metal fabrication and machining company specializing in laser cutting, machining, and rapid prototyping, and a premier supplier of tooling and components for advanced aerospace programs. We’re headquartered in Emmaus, PA, with a subsidiary, DMI-Texas, LLC, in Brownsville, TX. Our team of 45+ works across both sites. If you want your work to help shape the future of flight and exploration, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
We’re hiring an experienced Machinist to set up and run manual and CNC mills and lathes, producing precision parts to tight aerospace tolerances. You’ll plan, program, and run complex jobs from raw stock to finished part with minimal supervision, and you’ll be a go-to technical resource for less experienced machinists. This is not an entry-level role. It’s for a machinist who owns the job from start to finish.

Our Equipment
You’ll work on a mix of CNC and manual machines:
- Doosan DNM 5700 and DNM 4500 vertical machining centers
- Doosan Puma 2100 CNC lathe
- ProtoTRAK DPM3 bed mill
- Bridgeport mill retrofitted with a KMX control
What You’ll Bring
Required
- **Machining experience. **5+ years in a machine shop, with a track record of running complex, high-precision jobs on your own.
- **Equipment mastery. **Expert setup and operation of manual and CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment.
- **Blueprint and GD&T fluency. **You read complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical specs with confidence.
- **Programming and technical depth. **You’re proficient with CAD/CAM and CNC programming, and you know machining processes and materials in depth.
- **Independent work style. **You pay close attention to detail, solve problems on your own, and work with minimal supervision.
Nice to Have
- Aerospace or other high-tolerance, regulated manufacturing experience (strongly preferred)
- Experience on Doosan machining centers or lathes, ProtoTRAK, or Fanuc controls
- Sheet metal or job shop experience
What You’ll Do
- **Set up and run jobs. **Run manual and CNC mills and lathes, including programming, tool selection, and offsets, from raw stock to finished part.
- **Plan the work. **Interpret drawings, specs, and GD&T callouts to plan machining sequence, tooling, and setups.
- **Hold tight tolerances. **Inspect in-process and final parts with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM as needed.
- **Program and improve. **Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs to cut cycle time and scrap without sacrificing quality.
- **Manage tooling and equipment. **Select tooling and fixtures, and handle routine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
