Reports To: Production Supervisor

Job Purpose: Fabricate custom parts for production to be used within the designs of custom engineered finished products.

Job Definition: Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines. Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production. Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping. Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Calculate dim and tolerances with knowledge of match
• Machine parts to specifications of drawings
• Measure using precision instruments
• Set Up and operate machine tools
• Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machine work
• Layout, measure, and mark stock for measurements of cuts

Requirements

Successful Applications Should be Able to:

• Read blueprints
• Work to close tolerances
• Duplicate parts in volume

Education: Some vocational education training as a machinist would be preferred but experience is also acceptable if a candidate does not have a certificate.

Experience: 2+ years of machining experience unless the candidate has a certificate in machining from a trade school.
