PURPOSE: To machine new components and/or repair production equipment components for the manufacturing operations. Running multiple pieces of equipment to make parts to print.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):
- A variety of set-ups for standard and prototype machining jobs will be performed.
- Responsible for reworking and machining of new and spare production parts for various departments.
- Repairing of maintenance parts as needed.
- Inspect incoming parts.
- Order and maintain an inventory of consumable items for various departments.
- Complete lineup sheet for jobs in process.
- Reports manufacturing problems to the Group Leader or Foreman.
- Must have the technical competence to set up and operate a wide variety of shop equipment.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED; Additional experience, training or formal education is beneficial.
- Proficiency in operating all common machining equipment, mills, lathes, grinders, etc.
- Previous welding industry experience is a plus (Stick & TIG); knowledge of welding is preferred.
- Must be safety conscious.
- Ability to read, write, and understand written specifications and procedures.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Ability to design and execute from verbal instructions.
- Must be a self-starter and have good communication skills.
- Must possess good organizational skills.
- Must have excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to use various measuring devices (tape measure, micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators etc.) and must own these devices.
- Must have above average hand dexterity.
- Must be able to use math to calculate dimensions and determine speeds and feed rates.
