Job Summary 

We are seeking a versatile and skilled individual to join our team as a Testing Lab Technician and Machinist. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in testing, fabrication, and machining. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in both running tests in a lab environment and hands-on machinist skills. You will be responsible for conducting tests, fabricating fixtures, and writing technical reports. Familiarity with milling machines and wire EDM is highly desirable. 

Responsibilities 

  • Testing and Evaluation: Conduct various tests in our laboratory to evaluate product performance and compliance with specifications. Record and analyze test data to ensure accuracy and reliability. 

  • Fabrication and Machining: Use machining skills to fabricate test fixtures, components, and other necessary items. Operate milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment. Experience with wire EDM is a plus. 

  • Technical Reporting: Write detailed technical reports summarizing test results, analysis, and recommendations. Ensure reports are clear, accurate, and well-organized. 

  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot testing and machining equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Perform routine maintenance and repairs as needed. 

  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with team members to identify and implement improvements in testing procedures and fabrication processes. 

  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards in both lab testing and machining operations. Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and industry standards. 

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of tests, fabrication processes, and maintenance activities. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and other team members to support project goals and deliverables. Provide technical input and expertise as required. 

Qualifications 

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a machining, testing, or fabrication role 

  • Experience in a testing lab environment is advantageous but not required. 

Skills: 

  • Proficiency in machining techniques, including operation of milling machines and wire EDM. 

  • Ability to fabricate complex fixtures and components with precision. 

  • Strong analytical skills for conducting tests and interpreting results. 

  • Excellent technical writing skills for preparing detailed reports. 

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and equipment maintenance procedures. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
