Machine Shop Supervisor - Direct Hire!
The Machine Shop Supervisor plays a pivotal role in leading machining operations and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, precision components that meet demanding customer and industry standards.You will supervise all machine shop operations—including CNC and manual lathes, saws, mills, and Swiss machining—while setting the tone for safety, quality, and efficiency. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in building high‑performing teams.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities across all machining areas
- Assign work, set priorities, and monitor workflow to ensure efficient use of labor and equipment
- Ensure proper machine setup, tooling, and readiness for production runs
- Track scrap, rework, and downtime; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Train, coach, and evaluate machinists and operators; support skill development and address performance issues
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Scheduling to resolve production challenges
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions in partnership with HR
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school preferred
- Minimum 5 years of machining experience; prior supervisory or lead experience required
- Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
