Description

Under the direction of the lead operator, assists in the operation of the flame machine which includes set-up, loading, starting, adjusting and following proper operating and safety procedures to produce quality products. Responsible for full operation of the machine in the absence of the machine operator.

Checks the machine for safety
Reviews production orders to determine what materials are needed or if any special instructions should be followed to complete the order
Reviews appropriate lamination set-up sheets, control plans and SOP's to determine how to set-up the lamination machine and how to process the products through the machine.
Monitors the quality of the product being laminated
Loads raw materials and unloads finished materials from the machine.
Prepares production paperwork, inputs data to record allocation of materials.
Maintaining a neat and orderly work area which includes cleaning of the machine.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to read, write and understand English is preferred.
Possess basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions.
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance
Some overhead lifting of approximately 20 lbs is required.
Able to work well with others.
Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.
Previous experience in a factory environment or with moving machinery preferred.
Follow all safety procedures, process and guidelines set forth by Shawmut.
Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test, physical and background check.
