Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to handle heavy metal fabrication and processing in a labor-intensive production environment. The ideal candidate will operate and maintain machinery, follow safety protocols, and contribute to efficient production workflows. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain heavy metal processing machinery, such as presses, shears, grinders and draw machines.
  • Load, position, and secure heavy metal materials for processing.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure smooth operation.
  • Follow detailed instructions, blueprints, and technical specifications to achieve precise metal fabrication.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Identify and report any mechanical issues, safety hazards, or production inefficiencies to supervisors.
  • Assist team members in meeting daily production goals and deadlines.
  • Adhere to strict quality control standards to ensure finished products meet specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience operating heavy metal machinery in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and labor-intensive operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machine specifications.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials (often 50+ lbs).
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Labor-intensive environment involving standing for extended periods and heavy lifting.
  • Exposure to loud noise, heat, and potentially hazardous materials (with proper safety gear).
  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends, or overtime depending on production needs.
