The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining window fabrication center CNC machines to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. This role involves setting up the machine, loading materials, inputting preprogrammed specifications, monitoring operations, and performing quality checks to ensure the final products meet the required standards.

SCHEDULES AVAILABLE: 

Day shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS  

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 

  • 5+ years of previous manufacturing/industrial machine operation experience
  • CNC and window/door manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform precise measurements 
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles preferred

Computer Software:

  • Basic computer skills 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Studying technical manuals and receiving training to gain an understanding of how the CNC machine functions. 
  • Prepare, set up, and inspect the CNC machine for safe operation.
  • Inspect the raw materials for defects and required dimensions.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure proper operation.
  • Inspect and measure finished parts to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances. 
  • Perform basic maintenance on the machine, such as cleaning, lubricating and changing out parts. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to the machine.
  • Conduct regular inspections of parts and tools to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Document and report any discrepancies or issues with the products or machinery.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, and wear the required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Comply with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of machine operation, production output, and maintenance activities. 
  • Provide detailed reports on machine performance and production metrics as necessary.  
  • Interface with the production team and manufacturing engineers to improve manufacturability, safety, cost, delivery, quality, and lead time.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This position requires lifting (up to 50lbs unassisted) walking and standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach within hand and arm length, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Good hand-eye coordination and full hand dexterity
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a manufacturing/production environment. This role may involve exposure to loud noises from production machinery, dust, and mechanical hazards. The environment is not temperature controlled and the employee will be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, depending on the season.
