We're seeking highly skilled and experienced CNC Machine Operators/Machinists to join our dynamic team in Aiken, South Carolina. As a CNC Machine Operator V, you'll play a critical role in driving excellence in manufacturing, leveraging your expertise to produce high-quality parts while meeting key performance metrics. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy precision work, advanced manufacturing technology, and solving technical machining challenges.
Key duties include:- Understanding and interpreting blueprints, work instructions and job routers to determine machining requirements.
- Understanding Programming: G-code, M-code, or proprietary software, and working with engineering to modify programs to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Understanding machine control settings: Feed, speed, depth of cut, and applying proper work-holding techniques.
- Monitoring production for discrepancies, tool wear, dimensional accuracy, adjusting tooling and work offsets as needed.
- Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Must be able to train team members in best practices for manual and cnc machines.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, following all safety protocols.
- Participates in set up reduction/process improvement teams to increase process efficiencies
Responsibilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to interact/coordinate activities with others.
- Experience with Mazak, Makino, or Haas cnc milling machines is Preferred.
Typical Education and Experience
Typically a High School Diploma and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent,
- 2 year degree/certificate in machine tool technology or related field.
- 4+ years experience
- Mechanical aptitude and strong math skills for precise measurements and calculations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and utilize GD&T.
- Proficiency in using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting machine or production issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
