We have an immediate opportunity for a Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate and troubleshoot machinery used to produce high-quality food packaging products. This position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn specialized processes.
Pay & Schedule:
- Pay based on experience + $0.75/hour night shift differential (if applicable)
- 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:15 PM or 7:00 PM–7:15 AM)
- Every other weekend off
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate thermoforming and extrusion equipment in accordance with plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols
- Start, stop, monitor, and adjust machines to ensure efficient operation; troubleshoot basic issues and report malfunctions to a supervisor
- Follow emergency procedures for power outages, equipment failures, and workplace incidents; report all safety concerns or injuries immediately
- Read job specifications and maintain proper machine settings to support production efficiency, meet production goals, and minimize scrap
- Feed materials, monitor machine speeds, and perform general production tasks including packing products as needed
- Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specifications, GMP standards, and food safety requirements
- Complete logs, reports, and required documentation accurately
- Handle materials and operate equipment such as lift trucks (or willingness to learn)
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform basic preventive maintenance tasks
- Communicate operational, safety, and quality issues promptly and assist team members as needed
- Participate in safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives, including hazard identification and food safety programs
Qualifications
- 2+ years of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn new equipment and processes
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Basic computer skills
- Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts
