Job Overview:

Production Operator (Stamping & Welding)

Location: Fairfield, OH 45011

Shift Options

  • **1st Shift: 7:00am-5:45pm **
  • **2nd Shift: 6:15pm-5:00am **

Position Summary

We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented Production Operators to support both our stamping and welding departments. In this role, you will operate production equipment, monitor quality, maintain efficiency, and contribute to a safe and organized manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, quality-focused, and capable of working independently while collaborating with the production team.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor stamping presses and/or welding cells during continuous production.
  • Load materials and maintain equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Follow Kanban production schedules and meet daily production targets.
  • Perform visual inspections and quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Use calipers, gauges, check fixtures, and other measuring devices as required.
  • Conduct torque, thread, destruct, and other quality tests when applicable.
  • Complete operator data sheets, production reports, and required documentation accurately.
  • Communicate machine malfunctions, defects, or quality concerns promptly to supervisors.
  • Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and 5S activities, including cleaning equipment and maintaining organized work areas.
  • Handle totes, skids, scrap bins, and finished materials appropriately throughout the production process.
  • Follow all company policies, environmental guidelines, OSHA regulations, and safety procedures.
  • Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience operating stamping presses, punch presses, progressive presses, or welding equipment is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and use calipers, gauges, and inspection tools is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent attendance, reliability, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Team-oriented mindset with good communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions continuously.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Moderate physical effort required to move containers, totes, and production materials.
  • Ability to work up to 10-hour shifts and overtime or weekends as business needs require.

Work Environment

  • Indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to heat during summer months and cooler temperatures during winter.
  • Exposure to processing oils, welding sparks, moving machinery, and elevated noise levels.
  • Required personal protective equipment includes safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, and other assigned safety gear. Protective gloves and sleeves are provided as needed.
