Overview

Master Halco, North America’s leading manufacturer/distributor of fencing and perimeter security products is seeking a Machine Operator willing to complete training, if necessary, to become a weaving machine operator for 2nd Shift (Monday through Thursday 3:30pm - 2:00am).

This position will work under limited supervision operating moderately complex equipment in the continuous-operation manufacturing of strand wire into woven chain link fence. 

Associate will also be responsible for the sets-up and operation of one or more weaving machines, inspecting for quality and troubleshooting problems.

Responsibilities

  • Sets-up weaving machine for correct height and selvage of wire fabric and threads machine with wire ends.
  • Using verbal instructions or manufacturing order forms, retrieves specific gauge and finish of raw material with forklift.
  • Starts, stops and monitors weaving operation on multiple weaving machines.
  • Corrects minor problems such as tangles and misweaves and reports major problems to Supervisor or maintenance dept.
  • Performs visual inspection on finished material and material in-process for misweaves, poor quality raw material, etc.
  • Monitors roll length counter and removes woven wire from take-up roll.
  • May drive forklift to move wire to staging area.

Qualifications

  • Able to physically lift 75+ lbs. regularly
  • Desired experience with metal forming machines such as extrusion presses and/or CNC.
  • Ability to work overtime (including weekends) as needed
