Summary: Working on the production line you will produce blades and vanes as well as perform all quality checks. These positions require shift work and ability to work overtime when needed. You will be expected to be a leader within the cell and help the Team Lead with certain responsibilities. When Team Lead is absent, you will be expected to handle all their responsibilities.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform daily standard work and perform complex operations successfully.
  • Read and interpret process sheets. Able to troubleshoot complex issues with equipment to continue processing production material. Clock labor in Solumina. Perform Daily Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and document results. Be a resource of knowledge and problem solving for others in the area. Keep equipment and work area clean (6S). Adhere to standard work and all work instructions while performing tasks. Maintain acceptable quality levels on routine and/or complex operations. Must be able to run all equipment in the entire work loop and produce product at rate in multiple cells per standard work. Train (through shadowing) other operators to perform work tasks. (Level II or III) The person in this position will frequently move about the machine line to operate various manufacturing equipment (approximately 90% of the time). Transport product and/or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Demonstrate and maintain effective leadership skills. Exhibits consistent skill and positive attitude towards their job while demonstrating the highest degree of quality and productivity. Identify and correct basic to moderately difficult operational issues. Ability to correctly identify the root cause of operating problems. May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills. Responsibilities are not limited to the listed items above and can be changed or modified based on skill level, proficiency, and overall performance.
  • Machine Operator 4: Ability to operate a variety of production machines as well as perform the following activities: included but not limited to ability and certification (OJT) to run all product lines of each product cell (1V and 2V processes), set up of machines, perform rework through grit blast/airflow loop, troubleshoot, properly & effectively be shadowed by and offer guidance to new employees. Employees will have knowledge of current cycle times associated with each product. The employee must have completed and signed off both blades and vanes OJT certifications completely and be proficient in every process. This position will require performing complex operations. The operator must be willing to move between blades and vanes product lines at any time deemed necessary by the business unit leadership to meet production goals.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • General familiarity with operations in the standard work loops required in the metallic coating, grinding, hole drilling, ceramic coating, or finishing of turbine airfoils with broad knowledge of standard work loops in assigned area. Trained in CORE and SPS.
  • 4 or more years of training or equivalent experience.
