Job Overview:

Ditch Witch is now hiring a Machine Operator Lead on 2nd shift.

This employee coordinates and directs the activities of an assigned group of Machine Operator I and/or Machine Operator II. This includes planning and assigning work, training, helping solve material resource problems, and communicating policies. He or she also performs production and other duties. This employee must maintain a positive attitude and be professional in appearance and dress.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To perform this job, this employee must have or exhibit the ability to learn the following:

Meet work schedules and due dates Coordinate activities between shifts Provide technical assistance to employees including:

  • Interpreting changes in drawings, reports and other instructions.

Verify quality of workmanship and productivity. Setting up equipment necessary to perform a specific job function Trouble shooting and correcting problems with tools, equipment etc. Assisting with record keeping activities including labor, payroll and inventory Must have a working knowledge of SAP Willingness and ability to learn additional transactions to perform job duties, i.e.…repairing COGI errors, etc…) Identify and provide for employee training needed to support productivity in their area. Teach correct and safe work procedures Recommend methods to improve quality, productivity in the area Be supportive of his/her supervisor and all company policies Maintain and convey a sense of urgency to get assignments completed Utilize software to monitor and graph employee productivity. Promote and keep a positive “ CAN DO “ attitude Exhibit or be willing to develop good interpersonal skills Must follow a path of continual improvement personally and departmentally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The environment in which this employee works includes:

Shop environment. The shop environment includes: variable temperature and humidity, noise, and dirt; Physical hazards such as powered vehicle and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, and moving machinery, solvents, coolant, pressurized gases, various acids & caustics, cleaners, and metals. A variable work schedule, with hours that vary according to the needs of the job. During emergencies or critical deadlines, this employee must work until the job is finished. Rapidly changing work loads and priorities, multiple requests from numerous individuals and departments, and conflicting deadlines.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

To be considered, applicants must:

Have an exemplary work record, including indications of strong leadership skills, self-motivation, high productivity, reliable attendance, attention to product reliability, ability to learn new skills, and a cordial, cooperative personality. Be able to regularly handle items weighing in excess of 50 pounds. This includes pushing, pulling, lifting, and positioning items. Have full knowledge of the CMW manufacturing system, and a working knowledge of our ISO 9001 and CMW Quality System Procedures. Have good verbal and writing skills. CMW machining experience preferred.
