Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator IV - Fabricaiton to join our team in Aiken, SC. In this role, you will be responsible for the precision finishing and machining of components, ensuring all parts meet rigorous quality and blueprint specifications while maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.
Responsibilities:
•Participate in Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing events as assigned
•Be involved in and monitor all house keeping needs with peers
•Assist when required on scheduling needs and delivery date conversations or meetings
•Regularly assist with work instruction updates and issues as well as be able to assist in correcting and notating drawing issues or errors as required
•Ability to train Machine Operators I-III on machine operations, tooling, troubleshooting and general machining operations
•Other duties as assigned
•Basic machine troubleshooting
•Basic machine and operation problem solving
••Ability to read and execute scheduling requirements as requested
•Shall be able to offer direct feedback of work instructions and drawings to engineering when required
•Attend and pass a Training Within Industry (or equivalent) course before being promoted to IV or V.
•Other duties as assigned
Typical Education and Experience
Typically a High School Diploma and 3 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
•Three year minimum of machine operating experience
•Proficient operating skill of at least four CNC machines (or meet equivalent manual groups (internal reference) within the last 3 years
•Requisite knowledge to independently articulate and assist with custom tooling and fixture needs with Tooling Department and/or Engineering
•Skill set to independently troubleshoot tooling specific issues
•Ability to instruct Machine Operator I’s on reading, interpreting, and communicating blueprints and drawings
