As a Machine Operator II, you’ll set-up, adjust, and safely operate on a variety of machines. You’ll operate various types of equipment and play an important role in supporting a safe, organized, and productive work environment.

Shift: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd

Responsibilities

  • Set up and prepare machine for assigned job.
  • Work from pattern to mount and adjust dies, guides, feed, speed, tension, etc.
  • Recognize operating problems and make adjustments to accommodate stock variations, worn dies, humidity, etc.
  • Move strip loads and scrap loads. 
  • Operate machines and hand tools.
  • Use inspection and test gear.
  • Responsible for product quality. 
  • Record and report times and material produced.
  • Participate in cross-training.
  • Practice and promote safe work practices, reporting unsafe working practices.
  • Maintain a satisfactory productivity rating.
  • Work within a team-based environment and practices effective communication skills.
  • Possess a working knowledge of material/ inventory identification. 
  • Work from a manufacturing requirements schedule. 
  • Record and report production and/or equipment problems and perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery.

Requirements:

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
  • Able to work outdoors year-round, including in varying weather conditions, to unload flatbeds and maintain the dock and staging areas.
  • Attention to detail and strong reliability.
  • Demonstrate good problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience and/or training preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and 5S workplace organization standards is preferred
