1st Shift Production Machine Operator II (7am - 4:30pm)

Bradford Company is a family-owned and operated business located in Findlay, OH. At our 80,000-square-foot facility, we manufacture corrugated partitions (internal dunnage) used in packaging. We're currently looking for hardworking and reliable production machine operators to become part of our dedicated team.
SUMMARY
Responsible for machine operation including but not limited to: setting up, controlling and adjusting settings, feeding raw materials, inspecting parts, testing operation, ensuring quality standards, maintaining production records, and cleaning and maintaining machinery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan stock moves, feed hoppers and catch and instruct catchers when present.
- Recognize and correct all operating difficulties and adjust to accommodate subtle stock variations, worn dies, humidity, etc. Be able to read and understand the production schedule.
- Operate vertical assembly machines, hand tools, and gauges.
- Fully responsible for set-ups and coordination of production.
- Responsible for volume and quality of production.
- Responsible for clocking in and out of the manufacturing station to record labor.
- Report and record whether there are production and/or equipment problems.
- Instruct catchers, if present, in quality standards and safety requirements.
- Practice and promote safe work practices.
- Proactively help to create and work within a team-based environment and practices effective communication skills.
- Train other team members and retain and apply job knowledge, as required.
- Demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
- Possess a working knowledge of material/ inventory identification.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance as necessary.
- Perform other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to use and read a tape measure.
- Attention to detail and strong reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1–3 years of relevant experience and/or training preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and 5S workplace organization standards is preferred
