JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Equipment operation and repair.

            Includes:          operating production machines and equipment to maximum efficiency; trouble-shooting equipment problems; performing change-overs on machines; keeping equipment operating to maximum efficiency; ensuring all guards, shields, and safety functions are in place and working properly

 

 

 

 

 

 

Maintaining accurate and complete records.

            Includes:          filling out machine reports for each machine and for auxiliary equipment; reporting equipment and quality problems to supervisor and to oncoming shift; completion of production reports, as needed organizing and ensuring the proper storage and availability of spare equipment and department supplies; assisting with the proper storage, inventory, mixing, application, and clean-up

 

Controlling materials.

            Includes:          mixing resins, color concentrates and supplies to supply the machines with correct material mixtures; ensuring each machine is running the correct materials; keep areas clean and organized; sorting, cleaning, and controlling rejected product to maximize reuse and minimize loss; cleaning out machines

 

Supply and organization of production materials.

            Includes:          making readily available the supplies needed for each order; returning unused supplies to their proper locations; accounting for supplies

 

Delivery of finished product to storage locations.

            Includes:          preparing and delivering finished product to storage locations according to instructions; keeping accurate count of product put into storage; responding to queries and resolving discrepancies regarding production quantities; loading trailers according to instructions; accurately marking rows on trailers

 

Address Minor Product defects.

            Includes:          removing flash and extraneous pieces from bottles, both manually and by operating or feeding semi-automatic trimming machines, printing or coating defects that can be addressed, inform supervision of items that cannot be resolved.

 

Inspecting and packing product.

            Includes:          performing on-line visual inspections of product; conducting on-line quality testing; rejecting product that does not conform to quality expectations; printing, coating, affixing sleeves, labels, and stickers to finished product, as required; packing bottles according to instructions in the product book; keeping pace with the flow of product

 

Quality control.

            Includes:          minimizing the number of bottles rejected due to machine or process problems

 

Reports.

            Includes:          keeping maintenance records for all machines; communicating necessary machine information to supervisors, operators, and the Department Manager

 

Production.

            Includes:          performing the duties of a others in the department, as assigned.

 

 

 

Housekeeping.

            Includes:          keeping work area clean and organized; keeping excess plastic and rejected product clean for reprocessing; reprocessing rejected product

            

Miscellaneous.

            Includes:          filling in as team leader, as needed; performing other duties, as assigned.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:    Employees must be able to:

                                                            Lift approximately 20 pounds regularly

                                                            Lift up to 40 pounds occasionally

                                                            Lift up to 75 pounds rarely

                                                            Stand for extended periods of time

                                                            Bend, lift and reach on a regular                                                                                                       basis

                                                            Use both hands to grasp, twist, pull and manipulate                                                                         parts

                                                            Tolerate hot and dusty environments
