Automatan Litho-Label Operator – 2nd & 3rd Shift
Who We’re Looking For
Hood Container Corporation is seeking skilled Automatan Litho-Label Operators to join our 2nd and 3rd shift teams at our Chicago, IL facility. The ideal candidate will have previous manufacturing experience, especially operating Automatan Litho-Label machines, performing setups, and leading crews. The starting wage for this position ranges from $25.00 to $29.00 per hour + shift differential, based on skills and experience.
What You’ll Do
Operate, set up, and adjust the Automatan Litho-Labeler and associated equipment.
Assist in the production of corrugated laminated cartons.
Direct and train the machine crew to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Monitor production quality, troubleshoot issues, and submit maintenance requests when needed.
Maintain accurate production, downtime, waste, and maintenance records.
Follow ISO quality standards and Hood Container's safety procedures, including PPE, lockout/tagout, and hazardous waste handling.
Perform preventive maintenance and daily/weekly machine cleaning.
Interpret job orders and ensure jobs meet required specifications.
Support continuous improvement efforts and help meet or exceed production goals.
What You Bring
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
Prior Automatan Litho-Label or similar laminating equipment experience preferred.
Background in corrugated packaging is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proven track record of improving machine efficiency in a production setting.
Strong mechanical aptitude and process control understanding.
Comfortable using computer systems for job tracking and documentation.
Familiarity with equipment safety and operation procedures.
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 45 lbs.
Must be able to work in varying indoor temperatures (40°F to 120°F).
Stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for long periods.
