SUMMARY
The Auto Heat Set Machine Operator is responsible for overseeing automated heat setting operations, including loading and unloading heat set rods, managing production cycles, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met. This position supports production efficiency and product reliability through accurate hardness checks, equipment operation, and documentation. The role requires physical endurance, precision, and the ability to work in high-temperature environments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Load and unload heat set rods in coordination with automated equipment.
- Operate and monitor automatic heat set equipment to ensure optimal performance and part quality.
- Perform hardness checks using Rockwell equipment and accurately record results in the Heat Treat Database.
- Make adjustments to machine settings and sensors based on part quality or system alerts.
- Maintain work area cleanliness and assist with preventive maintenance as directed.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards for all aspects of heat treating operations.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and troubleshoot issues in real time.
- Visually assess part quantities, verify stacking accuracy, and follow established handling procedures.
- Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or heat treating environment preferred.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Basic computer skills; ability to enter data accurately.
- Familiarity with Rockwell hardness testing and sensor-based machinery.
