Job Description

Raycap is seeking skilled machine operators to run Amada Punch/Laser Combo machines in a fast-paced sheet metal manufacturing environment. This position will require the use of computers, CAD programs, basic hand tools, and measurement instruments.  This is a fast-paced position in a sheet metal manufacturing environment.   

SHIFT: 3rd shift: Monday - Friday 11:30 pm - 7:30 am *Includes an additional shift pay differential*

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC laser punch combination machine for cutting, punching, and forming sheet metal parts (preferably AMADA)
• Perform full machine setup: install tooling, load materials, input control changes
• Understanding limitations and capabilities of punch press aspect of machine regarding tooling capabilities, such as clearance dies, countersinks, taps, etc.  
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machine settings and material requirements. 
• Load and unload sheet metal materials, ensuring proper alignment and clamping. 
• Monitor machine operation and adjust cut condition parameters to maintain quality and efficiency. 
• Experience in NC coding with capability to edit to job requirements. 
• Communicate with production leads on meeting demands and following schedules.  
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment. 
• De-nest and finish parts cut by the machine
• Inspect parts to ensure they meet tolerance and quality specifications
• Use CAD programs, basic hand tools, and measurement instruments
• Maintain optimal machine conditions and perform routine checks
• Collaborate with production teams to meet output targets
• Follow safety protocols and regulatory standards

 Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience programming and set up with CNC punch press or laser combo machines (Amada or Trumpf)
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, punch assembly tooling, laser cutting conditions 
• Ability to use basic measurement instruments to verify components meet requirements  
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication and assembly
• Ability to read and interpret 2D prints, 3D models, and work instructions
• Ability to communicate verbally
• Excellent time management skills
• Willingness to adapt and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

 Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, and bend frequently without issue
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled production environment

BREAK/LUNCH: 30-minute lunch, plus two 15-minute breaks, to be determined by manager
