Machine Operator (P2)
Position Overview
Primary responsibilities may include; Operation of automated machinery, Set up, Changeovers, minor troubleshooting, Quality Checks, load/unload shipments.
12 Hour Rotation, NIGHT Shift (7pm-7am)
Details below:
- Core hours are 7:00 pm through 7:00 am on a rotation schedule.
- 2 days working, 2 days not working, 3 days working, 2 days not working, and so on.
- If you are scheduled to work on a Sunday, there is no double-time pay.
- If Sunday is not an assigned day per your rotation schedule and you work that day, it is paid at the double-time rate.
Shift example for Day Shift Yellow A crew:
- Week 1 Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Days off: Wednesday, Thursday)
- Week 2 Working Days: Wednesday, Thursday (Days off: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- This two-week schedule repeats each pay period.
Essential Functions:
- Operation of highly automated production equipment
- Ability to work with fast cycle times while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Minor troubleshooting
- Confer with other associates and Chain of command as necessary to identify and resolve problems.
- Crosstrain on different processes and/or rotate between stations.
- Preform Set-up & Changeover
- Ability to read and interpret job instruction manuals and perform basic math with a calculator.
- Maintain check sheets
- Perform scheduled quality checks
- Complete P&X Charts
- Ability to lift 33lbs.
- Follow all safety and quality requirements
- Shipping – Audit customer/supplier shipment and load/unload
- Performs other duties as assigned by chain of command.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- Two (2) Plus years manufacturing experience with the preference of: multi-machine operation, mechanical troubleshooting and minor repair (Formal Technical Education/Training can substitute experience)
- Stable work history
- Knowledge of general machine repair
- Ability to work daily and / or weekend overtime
- Able to read, compute, interpret, construct and maintain charts, records, log books and graphs.
- Basic computer skills
Qualified candidates are required to complete and pass a Plant Skills Review (PSR). This assessment has sections including math, mechanical reasoning, stock picking, pattern series recognition and a personality inventory.
