Job Overview:

To maintain superior customer focus, we are seeking an Machine Operator I to join our team. The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining automated and semi-automated welding equipment used in the manufacturing process. For the right candidate, this role can lead to other challenging opportunities in Louisville, or perhaps within the vast Emerson network of companies around the world!

 

In this role, your responsibilities will be:

  • Set up and operate automated, and semi-automatic welding machines per procedures
  • Load and unload materials, components, and assemblies into welding fixtures.
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure weld quality and production efficiency.
  • Perform routine machine adjustments and basic troubleshooting.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, process issues, and quality concerns.
  • Follow all safety procedures, and PPE guidelines.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area using 5S principles.
  • Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.
  • Produce quality welds that meet customer and engineering specifications.
  • Meet established production rates and efficiency targets.
  • Maintain a safe work environment 
  • Minimize scrap, rework, and downtime.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, reliability, and attendance consistency.

 

Who you are:

You are an individual that has great quality decision-making abilities, able to ensure you provide good customer service and holds yourself to the upmost standards.

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of previous manufacturing, fabrication, or welding machine operation experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of welding processes such as MIG, TIG Welding preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing production priorities.
  • Ability to sit or stand daily for up to 10 hours.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds intermittently.

  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment.
