Machine Operator

Location: Kansas City, MO

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: 8-Hour Shift (Monday- Friday 8a-4p)

Pay: $22.00/HR

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to operate and monitor production equipment in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, basic mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

This position involves operating machinery, inspecting products, performing routine equipment checks, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Perform basic machine setups, adjustments, and routine equipment inspections.
• Inspect raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Record production output, downtime, and material usage accurately.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, and safety hazards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow standard operating procedures and quality control guidelines.
• Work with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
• Assist with process improvements to increase efficiency and product quality.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• At least one year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand technical instructions and drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

Preferred:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience operating automated or CNC machinery.
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
• Forklift certification or material-handling experience.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Stand and walk for extended periods, including throughout an entire shift.
• Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements.
• Bend, reach, stoop, and occasionally climb ladders or stairs.
• Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work around moving machinery, noise, varying temperatures, and airborne particles within permissible safety limits.
• Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.

Schedule & Overtime

• Full-time position with standard 8-hour shifts.
• Shift times may vary based on production needs.
• Overtime may be required depending on workload.
• Three paid 10-minute rest breaks are provided per shift.
