Machine Shear Operator – Steel Fabrication
About the Role
This is a direct hire job for a steel fabrication and processing facility looking for dependable individuals to join our production team. This is a hands-on role operating machinery and handling steel materials in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. No prior experience is required — we provide training. This is a fantastic company! People don't leave this job until they retire.
- 1st Shift: $18.50/hour
- 2nd Shift: $19.50/hour
- $0.50/hour increase after successful completion of a 60–90 day probation period
- Annual raises and bonuses (with potential for more frequent bonuses in the future)
1st Shift
- Monday–Thursday: 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM (30-minute lunch)
- Friday: 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Paid at time and a half
- No lunch
- Some Fridays off
2nd Shift
- Monday–Thursday: 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM (30-minute lunch)
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Paid at time and a half
- No lunch
- Some Fridays off
- When working Friday at 8:00 AM, second shift ends at 11:00 PM Thursday
✅ No Saturday or Sunday work
✅ Future shift possibility: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate a hydraulic steel shear
- Move steel sheets to machines by hand, crane, or magnet
- Inspect finished sheets and strips using precision measuring tools
- Package finished materials using air-powered banding tools
- Move raw and finished steel using a forklift
- Use basic math and computer skills to:
- Record production
- Print tags
- Follow work orders

- No experience necessary – training provided
- Basic math, reading, and measuring skills
- Basic computer and calculator skills
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Team-oriented with a willingness to help where needed
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable following work orders and instructions
