In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain heavy industrial machinery to cut, shape, and process steel materials according to customer specifications. This position requires strong technical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the physical stamina to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation: Set up and operate heavy-duty steel processing equipment, including band saws, shears, press brakes, and CNC plasma cutters.
Material Handling: Load and unload raw steel materials and finished products using overhead cranes, forklifts, and side-loaders.
Quality Assurance: Measure and inspect finished pieces using tape measures, and micrometers to ensure they match blueprints and work orders.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine daily maintenance and safety checks on machinery to maximize uptime and prevent damage.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA and company safety protocols, including wearing required PPE and maintaining a clean work cell.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience operating machinery in a steel service center, fabrication shop, or heavy manufacturing environment.
Precision Measurement: Proficiency using standard measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, gauges).
Equipment Licensing: Experience with overhead cranes and forklift operation is a plus.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work comfortably in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
