QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Must have knowledge of machine room processes along with the operation, adjustment, and setup of machining operations.
- Prefer knowledge and experience in compaction & sizing tool set-up and operation.
- Must be experienced in the use and care of basic gaging required in the machining department such as micrometers, indicators, comparator, surface finish tester and CMM and the ability to learn any other special gaging required per control plan.
- Must be able to read, understand, and follow Process Control Plans.
- Must understand basic Statistical Process Control.
- Prefer to knowledgeable of the powdered metal manufacturing process.
- Must have good work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills. Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed, including weekends.
- Must have excellent attendance.
JOB DUTIES:
- Maintain machine utilization and improve processes throughout the machine room or compaction/quality daily.
- Reports to shift supervisor for overall operations.
- Train new hires and co-workers if needed.
- Set-up, adjust, load, off load, and operate Fine Grind equipment
- Relieve fellow workers as directed to support continuous operation of equipment. Including quality checks, material handling, recordkeeping (SPC charts, labor cards, ID cards, etc.).
- Report to shift supervisor; materials needed to maintain daily production needs
- Follow written and/or oral schedules
- Work to control plan and instructions as provided on process sheets, sample routings, etc.
- Practice good housekeeping and safety habits.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by shift supervisor.
- Assumes leadership role in 5S, training, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
