Machine Maintenance Technician III    

THIS POSITION IS FOR DAY SHIFT - 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

Responsible for executing preventative maintenance; identifying potential issues that could interrupt machine uptime, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of various equipment used within the manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of various types of machine tools – CNC and conventional machines, part washers, air benches, recyclers and other production equipment.
  • Good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical control systems
  • Record completion of work orders by documenting in detail the steps taken, parts installed and repairs performed on all equipment utilizing a CMMS.
  • Execute other tasks as assigned. 
  • Ability to follow all maintenance safety practices including Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures and Risk Analysis prior to starting the maintenance tasks and adhere to all “Best Practices” in the Industrial Safety Programs implemented by the company.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

•             Valid California Driver’s License.

•             Forklift License. (preferred)

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Technical school training, OR 7+ years’ experience in related field of repairing CNC industrial equipment AND/OR training with company equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience on Renishaw ball bar test a plus.
  • Knowledge of operation and repair of at least one of the following: DMG Mori, Haas, Mazak or Matsuura machine tools. 
  • Experience on CNC controls, Fanuc, Haas and Mitsubishi. 
  • Ability to effectively use blueprints, electrical and hydraulic schematics, ladder logic diagrams, and other related technical documents, manuals, and drawings to assist in diagnosis and repair
  • Electrical knowledge ranging from low voltage of power to 480 Volts (3 phase).
  • Must possess good communication skills. 
  • Good mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new procedures. 
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Experience participating in a Safety Committee and/or Emergency Response Team (ERT)

Preferred 

  • Demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines
  • Ability to use power tools. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:

  • Visual acuity: near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts 
  • Hearing ability: ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action 
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach overhead, and bend to the floor 
  • Frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:

•             High noise levels from operating machines
