Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support a high-volume automotive manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and efficiency. This position requires strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on stamping presses, transfer systems, conveyors, and automated production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled machinery, electrical systems, motor controls, sensors, drives, and HMIs.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical equipment failures.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, hydraulic diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Repair and maintain press feed systems, lubrication systems, die protection equipment, and material handling systems.
  • Install, test, and calibrate motors, drives, sensors, switches, and other industrial control components.
  • Complete work orders and document maintenance activities using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Support equipment modifications, machine installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and tooling teams to resolve equipment issues and improve plant performance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with stamping presses, automated production equipment, or automotive manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and off-shift schedules as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and FactoryTalk systems.
  • Experience supporting robotic automation systems.
  • Journeyman Electrician, Industrial Maintenance, or related certification.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
