The Machine Maintenance Lead ensures maintenance and repair activities for machinery are conducted efficiently. They diagnose issues, perform repairs, and maintain documentation to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities include:
- Technical Training and Development: Develop and conduct training programs for new maintenance technicians, focusing on technical skills, safety protocols, and best practices in machine maintenance.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Utilize advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Preventive Maintenance Programs: Design, implement, and optimize preventive maintenance programs to proactively identify and address potential equipment failures, minimizing unplanned downtime and costly repairs.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to maintenance technicians during equipment breakdowns or malfunctions, offering expertise to expedite repairs and restore production operations promptly. Ensure facility and infrastructure is maintained as required to ensure safe operation and zero downtime of systems.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce adherence to safety regulations and company policies among maintenance team members, conducting regular safety audits and promoting a culture of safety awareness.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance processes, streamline workflows, and enhance overall equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with production managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate maintenance activities, prioritize work orders, and minimize disruptions to production schedules.
- Stay Updated with Industry Trends: Stay abreast of industry advancements and emerging technologies in machine maintenance, incorporating innovative techniques and tools to improve maintenance practices.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to maintenance technicians, fostering their technical growth and professional development within the organization.
- Emergency Response: Act as a point of contact for maintenance emergencies, mobilizing resources and coordinating rapid responses to critical equipment failures to minimize production downtime.
- Associate degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in machine maintenance, or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical skills in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with PLCs, and other automated systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
