Job Description

Role Description:

This position is responsible for all activities related to the implementation of new capital, tooling fixtures, continuous improvement, and maintenance. Tooling and capital will be implemented in, but not limited to the following areas: welding, assembly, tapping, etc.  Position may also be required to assist automation and secondary process departments with specific tooling needs.

·         Sensor application design and implementation

·         Ability to operate all tool room related equipment (i.e. lathe, Bridgeport, grinder, etc)

·         Mechanical device assembly proficiency

·         Ability to read prints and interpret assembly instructions to meet expected deliverables

·         Understand and troubleshoot basic automation functions, e.g. pneumatic actuation, sequence of fixture/machine operation, etc.

·         Meet customer & internal timelines to deliver tooling and equipment to the plant in the expected timeframe

·         Troubleshoot problem applications

·         Evaluate/brainstorm new projects and test/validate concepts

·         Design and machine components

·         Install, route, and protect sensors and wires

·         Test and verify tooling as required

·         Repair/replace malfunctioning sensors and repair damaged tooling

·         Kanban and inventory skills

·         Work with limited direction

·         Other duties as needed

Education/Experience/Certifications:

To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience, or certifications are preferred:

Education: 

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

• 3+ years’ experience in automation assembly or related field
• Stamping manufacturing experience

Certifications:

• None

Additional Skills Required:

To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following skills are required:

Computer skills:

• Applicant must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience in AutoCAD Inventor or equivalent design programs a plus

Communication skills:

• Speak effectively with fellow employees or customers.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical skills:

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Other Skills:

• Organized and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties.
• Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Must also be able to understand basic electrical schematics.
