Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machine Tool Electrician / Electrical Technician to join our in-house team working on industrial machinery. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and refurbishing older equipment, primarily from the 1940s–1990s era. and new machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities and hands-on experience working in industrial environments.
This position requires someone comfortable working with electrical systems in machine tools and manufacturing equipment, including motors, drives, control panels, and PLC-based systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems on industrial machinery
- Read and interpret AC and DC electrical schematics
- Build and wire electrical control panels
- Program and configure relays and PLC systems (general PLC knowledge required)
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot motors, drives, and 480V electrical systems
- Assist in the rebuilding and refurbishment of legacy machine tools
- Test and verify electrical components and machine functionality after repairs
- Work closely with mechanical technicians during machine rebuild projects
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with industrial machinery or machine tools
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics (AC/DC)
- Experience with PLC programming or PLC troubleshooting
- Knowledge of relay programming and control circuits
- Experience with panel building and electrical wiring
- Strong understanding of motors, drives, and 480V industrial systems
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Hands-on experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
