Overview
We are seeking skilled Machine Builders to support the assembly of industrial automated equipment. These individuals will be responsible for building machinery and subassemblies to exact engineering specifications, ensuring all systems meet performance standards, tolerances, and production deadlines. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined professionals who thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
Assemble machines and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
Interpret and execute detailed mechanical drawings, shop orders, and engineering documentation.
Build and install components including:
Frame assemblies
Drive systems, motors, and shafts
Drums, rolls, and bearings
Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Sensors, brackets, and guarding
Perform operational testing, mechanical adjustments, and final verification to ensure adherence to performance standards and tolerances.
Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to validate build accuracy.
Operate cranes and rigging equipment safely and effectively (rigging experience required).
Support shipping and receiving as needed.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvement on the production floor.
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
High proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical prints and engineering drawings.
2+ years of experience assembling industrial automation machinery (machine builder, assembler, maintenance tech, or service tech backgrounds accepted).
Experience using precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers.
Hands-on experience with industrial machine components (frames, motors, shafts, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.).
Crane rigging experience required.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Office, and ERP systems.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
Physically capable of standing for long periods, frequent walking, and occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree, trade school certificate, or relevant technical certifications are highly preferred.
3–5+ years of experience in industrial automation assembly or machine building.
Forklift and crane certifications.
Flexibility to work overtime, including occasional half-day Saturday shifts (preferred but not required).
Ability to work in a contract-to-hire capacity.
