We’re seeking a skilled Machine Builder to join a growing OEM specializing in custom automated machinery and industrial systems for the packaging and converting industries. This is a hands-on mechanical assembly role in a clean, well-organized shop where craftsmanship and attention to detail are key.
As a Machine Builder, you'll assemble mechanical systems and subassemblies from blueprints and mechanical drawings, ensuring the final build meets engineering specifications and high-quality standards.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys building complex systems from the ground up and is comfortable with fast-paced, dynamic projects.
Assemble custom machines from mechanical blueprints and exploded-view drawings
Install motors, bearings, shafts, conveyors, and other mechanical components
Use hand and power tools to drill, tap, fit, and align parts
Perform mechanical adjustments and alignments to ensure proper function
Collaborate with electricians and engineers during the build process
Participate in troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of equipment as needed
Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
Required:
3+ years of mechanical assembly or machine building experience
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, prints, and BOMs
Proficient with hand and power tools (drill press, grinders, torque wrenches, etc.)
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
High school diploma or equivalent
Nice to Have:
Experience building automated machinery or conveyor systems
Familiarity with pneumatics, linear motion, and servo components
Background in packaging, converting, or food processing equipment
Forklift experience or overhead crane familiarity
Friendly, experienced team with low turnover
Clean and organized facility with access to quality tools and equipment
