We’re looking for an experienced
Machine Builder to join a growing manufacturing team in Germantown, WI. This is a hands-on opportunity to build custom industrial machinery from the ground up in a supportive, laid-back shop environment where people work hard, enjoy what they do, and have a good time doing it.
You’ll spend approximately 80% of your time on mechanical assembly and 20% on electrical work, working with everything from bearings, shafts, gearboxes, chains, sprockets, belts, and pulleys to motors, sensors, and basic machine controls.
What You’ll Do
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics
- Build and assemble industrial machinery and automated equipment
- Assemble and align drive systems, gears, shafts, chains, sprockets, belts, and pulleys
- Wire and terminate motors, sensors, control panels, and basic machine controls
- Drill, tap, ream, cut, and modify components as needed
- Use hand tools, power tools, drill presses, saws, grinders, and other shop equipment
- Inspect components using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues during assembly
- Maintain a strong focus on quality and safe work practices
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in machine building, industrial equipment assembly, automation, or similar manufacturing
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to independently read mechanical blueprints
- Experience assembling mechanical components and drive systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics and perform basic wiring/terminations
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Experience with drilling, tapping, reaming, and component modification
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have your own tools
Nice to Have: Packaging machinery, conveyors/material handling, shrink-wrap equipment, forklift/crane, welding/fabrication, or Lean/Continuous Improvement experience.
