Job description:

A Lumper (often titled Warehouse Associate or Unloader) is a physically demanding role focused on loading, unloading, and organizing freight at distribution centers. Responsibilities include lifting, scanning, stacking, and sorting inventory from containers or trailers. Key requirements include stamina to lift 50+ lbs, speed, and safety adherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading/Unloading:Manually loading and unloading shipments from shipping containers or trailers.
• Inventory Management:Sorting, scanning, and palletizing inventory to prepare for storage or shipment.
• Safety & Organization:Maintaining a clean work environment and adhering to safety procedures.
• Workflow Efficiency:Working at a fast pace to meet production goals, sometimes with incentive-based pay.

Requirements

• Physical Stamina:Ability to handle heavy, repetitive lifting (often 50+ lbs) for long hours.
• Experience:Previous warehouse, loading, or unloading experience is a plus.
• Equipment:Familiarity with pallet jacks, scanners, and forklifts is often beneficial.

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced, demanding environment.
• Work is often in warehouses or, in some cases, cold storage.
• Often involves weekend or night shifts
