As a Lufkin Gears Repair Proposals Specialist, you are developing accurate and timely repair quotations for industrial gearbox services. You are acting as a key coordinator between Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams, ensuring proposals are technically complete, commercially competitive, and aligned with pricing standards. You are managing RFQs, validating repair scope, and supporting customers through the quoting lifecycle while driving continuous improvement in processes and tools.
As a Lufkin Gears Repair Proposals Specialist, you are responsible for:
Developing repair quotations (labor, material, services) using appropriate pricing methodology
Managing RFQs and budgetary quotes, including identifying required parts and services based on customer inputs
Reviewing engineering evaluations and validating repair scope, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Coordinating across Sales, Engineering, and Operations to gather inputs and resolve gaps in technical scope
Tracking and prioritizing active quotes to meet turnaround expectations and business priorities
Validating lead times, scope inclusions, and proposal quality prior to release
Providing support to Sales and engaging customers as needed for clarification and/or customer witness points
Identifying and driving improvements in quoting processes, tools, and pricing consistency
Maintaining on-site visibility in the repair shop to monitor progress and ensure alignment between quoted scope and repair execution timing
Supporting with repair order entry, change order management, and spare parts quoting as volume dictates

To be successful in this role you are:
Have to have a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma / GED.
Have to have a high degree of experience in Microsoft Office platforms including Excel, with preferred experience in Oracle, and ability to utilize internally developed systems (New Order Workflow, Deal Machine)
Have to have experience in industrial equipment, repair services, or technical quoting (preferred)
Have to have strong technical aptitude and ability to interpret mechanical systems, parts lists, and technical drawings
Have to have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
