ABOUT LPS PROJECTS GROUP:
The Lifecycle Performance Services department, initiated in 2018, supports customers in logistics and warehouse distribution/fulfillment industries throughout their facility’s lifecycle. Services include warranty, maintenance, system assessment, tech support, spare parts, and retrofit services. The LPS Projects Group focuses on optimizing, adding to, retrofitting, and upgrading customer conveyor systems, specializing in equipment types like automated sorters, singulators, gappers, extendable conveyors, and transport conveyors. Projects range from small equipment swaps to complete subsystem installations.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Design Engineer II will work and mentor other Mechanical Design Engineers to ensure project installation drawings meet safety, standards, and specifications. The Mechanical Design Engineer II will do entry-level projects and assist Mechanical Project Engineers on larger projects by communicating with project managers, electrical and controls engineers, installation teams, permit specialists, and any other support to ensure projects are successful.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Taking ownership of resolving issues during the design phase to meet customer and government specifications.

  • Create and use manifests and general arrangements for guidance to create and update drawings under Project Engineer direction.

  • Mentoring new engineers on creating, updating, and reviewing installation drawings to ensure quality submissions.

  • Prioritizing and managing schedules to complete submissions on time and within budget.

  • Verify that qty and descriptions in the Bill Of Materials match the depiction at the completion of drawings.

  • Report any project discrepancy to the PE during the design phase.

  • Lead entry-level projects and assist Project Engineers on large projects.

  • Creating equipment manifest

  • Selecting specific equipment and materials

  • Creating requisition and request quotes for materials

  • Providing support on-site or over the phone

  • Leading project teams

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or similar degree or equivalent industry experience.

  • (2+) years of mechanical conveyor or installation design work preferred or (1+) years of experience leading a mechanical project engineering team.

  • Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault are required; Recap, Navisworks, and BIM.

  • Mechanical aptitude, teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving.

  • Working independently, self-starting, willingness to learn, and time management.

  • This position requires up to 10% travel to various sites.

  • Use design challenges to grow and explore solutions.

  • Skilled with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Communication, verbal and in writing.

The base salary range for this role is $ 28.85/hr to $43.27/hr, eligible for overtime. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
